Santa Cruz County Math Initiative

The Santa Cruz County Math Initiative is a network of teachers and administrators in district mathematics leadership teams working to improve learning outcomes in mathematics.

The aim of the initiative is to increase the percentage of students who score “proficient” or above in mathematics on the CAASPP and foster positive mindsets about their ability to learn and do math. Participating teams are provided leadership coaching and professional learning in the California Math Framework. They are also provided targeted support to use data for progress monitoring to address the learning of underperforming student groups.
